It’s Dharma Calling … are you listening?
Even angels have secrets and Archeia Hope’s is tethered to a hypersensitive young girl in 1970s Central Texas. Three thousand years ago, Melodee Mooney’s Volunteer Soul promised the angel Hope they could bring peace to earth by teaching humans that they’re using fear all wrong. Vibrating with dark energy, fear was divinely designed to be humanity’s advisor … not its adversary.
This is the Volunteer Soul’s 33rd and final life on earth. If Melodee finishes the Angels’ Gauntlet, all hell is going to break loose—literally. Unaware of her Dharma mission and chosen destiny, Melodee believes everything happens for a reason, but her nemesis is the misunderstood emotion of fear.
Necessary evils are the loopholes angels rely on. Protecting Melodee from the Fallen Ones—a band of demon angels addicted to her Golden aura like a designer drug—requires a level of collusion that her Guardian Angel Beverly doesn’t agree with. If Melodee succeeds in her soul’s mission, the Fallen will be consumed by positive energy and rendered powerless.
Lucifer has no idea that his favorite Fallen Angel, Lix Tetrax, secretly longs to return Home to Heaven’s realm … and she wants to take the Morningstar Angel with her. Archeia Hope uses this intel to her advantage, recruiting Lix to be the executor of Melodee’s gauntlet.
Hope is counting on Melodee to harness the wisdom of the angels and trust the intuition of her Volunteer Soul. Closing every gate of the dauting gauntlet is the only way to achieve Dharma. If Melodee fails … Hope fails. And the Fallen Ones will poison every soul on earth with fear’s darkness.
The ultimate threat for Shadow Spirits is peace on earth.

So Close So Far
poetry chapbook

Mother's Day 1971—I was seven years old, flying alone to Dallas, Texas on my way home after visiting my grandmother in Seattle, Washington. During the four-hour flight, I spoke at length to a gentleman sitting behind me. When we departed the plane at the former Love Field airport, the man gave my mother a piece of yellow paper … legal-pad size. He was a poet and (in his own words) was so inspired by our conversation that he wrote a poem about me.
I am now sixty-one and I still have that original piece of yellow paper covered in his heartfelt sentiment. His name was Hal Heath, and I never saw him again.
As a young girl, I taught myself to use poetry as a coping mechanism whenever I become overwhelmed by the ebbs and flows of life. In my twenties, I was obsessed with Edgar Allen Poe. In my thirties, I switched to Emily Dickinson. If you know their work, you might notice their influence in mine. Dark and Light … this has always been the underlying message I've received.
And I say 'received' because I have no doubt that the Muse Angels deliver breadcrumbs of inspiration to me constantly. Sometimes I’m compelled to stop what I'm doing and (for lack of a better word) channel their ideas into poetic arrangements.
So Close So Far is a collection of poems that dig into life’s difficult subjects while draped in swaths of ethereal advice, guidance, and hard truths. They are all personal explorations of the relationships I've had and those I've witnessed. I hope you find the common ground of life's truths and the people who shape all of us hiding within the lines and stanzas of my work.
Most of us share some form of a shattered past and a hopeful future—and that is why the angels are here to help us. Experiencing hardships is universal. Seeing them through the lens of poetic language can heal your heart.
